Week 18: Monday Reset

Hello, everyone!!! I've missed food-blogging so much! I've also missed losing weight! But that's for later.

So yesterday- drum roll please-I finished all of my courses for grad school!!! I am so excited! I would say that I'm done with classes forever- but last time I said that (after finishing undergrad) it was only 3 months before I found myself in a classroom taking notes again- so not going there, but I am still really excited. All that's left is to finish writing my thesis and defend at the end of the summer.

Exam week in undergrad was always hard- life wise...in grad school- its worse. Its just a longer and harder process to finish everything. I made the exec decision to not pressure myself to stay on my "diet" while going through that. Mainly because working morning until the wee hours of the night didn't give me much time to prepare food. Needless to say, I ate out almost every meal for 2 weeks!! This meant chick-fil-a almost every day...and not their salads. I must say- it was divine...chicken nuggets, french fries, burgers, more fries, pasta, and all kinds of delights (I'm sure my body is 50% sodium right now, poor thing). I may be making lifestyle changes- but fried/salted anything will always have a place in my heart.

So after what I put my poor stomach through over the past few weeks- you'll be surprised to find out that I didn't gain weight for the 2-3 weeks I wasn't on the program!! As a matter of fact, at the weight watchers meeting last night- I was down .8 lbs. Its certainly not a lot compared to normal weight loss, but its not a gain, and I was eating whatever I felt like. I attribute this mainly to be conscious of what is going into my body now. The portions of everything I had were much smaller than they would have been for pre-WW Casey. So I think its something to celebrate, that I lived my life without thinking about food a single time- no tracking, no planning, no nothing- and still lost weight. I was happy about it.

So currently, I weigh 173.8 lbs and I am thinking of this as a new starting point. I could tell that my weight loss was slowing a little in the last few weeks of meetings, but not a ton. I'm not sure if its because I was becoming a little complacent and too comfortable or if my body was changing while my expectations weren't. and I think its better if I think of this as a fresh start...I weight 173.8. Once upon a time, I weighed 198.4, but that is in the past. New start, and new drive to reach my goals.

So on to my foods- I took pictures for the first time in a while yesterday, so here's the rundown of my day and my "eats." I got up around 7:30 and read a book on the couch with Bear while waiting for Matt to wake up so I could take him to work. I took Matt in, and it was SUCH a crappy day outside.

I was hungry by the time I dropped him off, but didn't have any food at home, so I went to the grocery to restock before heading home. I had some bread 3pts and some laughing cow cheese 1pt for breakfast. I grabbed another slice of bread after reading for a while for another 1pt
After a while, Jamie and I got together to run a couple of errands. Since I had such a late breakfast, I wasn't hungry for lunch so I had some chex mix 3pts.

We also got chia lattes at Greenberry's to warm us up in the stinky weather. I had 1/2 of my tall one with soy milk for 1pt.

Eventually, we picked Matt up from work and headed home. I got dinner with Matt, Cait, and Dee at Stix, which was amazing. I had lamb and rice with cucumber dressing and some humus with pita bread 9pts. I ate everything except the humus.

After dinner, we went out for drinks to celebrate the end!! I had 4pts of drinks at the restaurant with a couple of fries (sorry no pic) 5pts and 3pts more at Dee and Becky's house when we went over and played Rock Band. I want to get Rock Band so badly. We sang Allanis Morsette, Lady Gaga, Eye of the tiger...all sorts of amazing songs. It was really great.

I am far overdue for an update picture, so I'll make sure I take and post one in the next few days!! I'm glad to be back!
