FRIDAY! Happy weekend! Every time I get to the weekend, I get really excited because I have time off work to spend on my thesis, and then I get really overwhelmed because another week can't have gone by already!! Time is marching toward my deadlines and I'm doing everything I can to keep up. Ah- we all have our battles.
Breakfast was a drippy egg blah blah...yeah same thing as the last week. I'll let you know when they get old. 4pts 214 calories with one slice of bacon 1pt and 50 calories.
It took me a little longer to get out the door than usual, so I had a Quaker Oats Reduced Sugar Granola Bar for 2pts and 100 calories before leaving.
Most of the day was spent working on the thesis at Starbucks. I had a light frap for 4pts and 180 calories...they may as well hook me up to an iv these days.
I had to leave a little early from starbucks for work due to some issues with my current meds making me feel crummy. My little body is going haywire at the moment. Before work, I had a pb&j for 4pts and 210 calories.
After work, I got some exciting news- a paper Matt and I wrote was accepted for publication! We've been waiting to hear back for several months from the Journal of Non Crystalline Solids. Hooray! Research gods have smiled upon us. I took the night off from writing to celebrate.
We went to Wild Wings which had a band that was playing way to loud and some obnoxious people sitting near us, but with beer, wings, and the right company, you can't really go wrong so we had a good night all together.
The husband and I. Maybe we will be like the Dresselhauses some day. |
My BigAzz Beer |
Matt's plate of wings |
My plate of baby sliders with fries |
So my night wasn't really on plan, but I enjoyed myself and didn't overeat. The 1/2 portion of sliders and fries was perfect (although still calorically devastating, I'm sure). Estimate: 12pts for dinner and 8pts for beer.
Cheers! Its back to work Saturday!

Also, curious, what's your area of study and what are you writing your thesis on? This fellow grad student loves other grad students to commiserate with! :D have a great weekend!
