Week 13: Day 1

This week is going to be a doozie!! I was up really late last night finishing up a homework assignment due today and still didn't get it done so I worked on that all day long. I was hoping to finish it earlier, but that's another story. ;)

So for breakfast this morning, I attempted to poach an egg in this microwavable egg poacher I bought at Kroger....however, at some point last week I threw away the instructions making the first attempt a fiasco, ending with the egg (and egg poacher) exploding in the microwave. I did some quick googling and rectified the problem and had a 2nd-try poached egg 2pts with 1/4 cup black bean and corn salsa 0pts.
My poached egg was still a little overdone.

As I said- I worked all day on an assignment for Vibration Analysis. I did snag a break for lunch consisting of 2 cups of asparagus goat cheese pasta 6pts and 1/4 cup of black bean and corn salsa (again. Can you tell I love the no points options?) 0pts.
I promise I'll get a recipe of this up for you guys soon!

Again- after lunch I returned to the assignment. I honestly was worried I wouldn't be able to finish it even with the extension I got until tomorrow! Vibes is not my area. Fortunately, some undergrads took pity on me and gave me a few hints. Yes, I took help from undergrads...unfortunately that also meant checking their work- which wasn't right. Around 4:30 Matt and I headed home where I relaxed for a few minutes before heading to my WW meeting!! At the meeting, they gave us these peanut butter bars to try. They were a little sweet for me, but I did eat it all :) 2pts.

So- obviously, CJ and I didn't do our traditional C25K training together today. I had so soo much to do that I bailed on her and she went alone on the sole promise that I would go to my gym when I finished. Well- let me tell you- skipping out and (ahem lying to CJ) was looking pretty promising by the time I got to WW and thinking about everything I had going on. But- Weight Watchers to the rescue- what was today's meeting about? PREPARING FOR A 5K!! Wow- was God in the room with me? So of course no skipping out now. I'm down -1.8 lbs this week for a total of 21.6 lbs!!! Exciting.

When I got home, I convinced Matt to go to the gym and run with me. Well, that plan didn't work. One of the fuses at the apt gym was blown and it was the one the treadmills were on. Normally, I would have called it at night, but instead, I hit the road. Running C25K Week 3 Day 1 outside was harder in some ways and easier in others. It used different muscles so it was harder- and there were hills, but I think I ran slower. My quads are going to be sore tomorrow for sure. I got +3 activity pts for the run!
Stream that smells like poo near where I ran.
Me, after the run on my home stretch cool-down walk. I was going to say- embrace the sweatyness, but I will admit this is take 2 of the picture. Oh vanity- sometimes you get the best of me.

I am currently eating dinner of 1 cup of chili on a baked potato with WW cheese for 8pts.

I may throw in a snack later tonight. If I do, I'll add it tomorrow. Hope you have a great Tuesday!
