"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." - Psalm 1:1-3The other passage, and what the priest focused on for the homily was about the opposite- being a baren bush in a dessert wasteland if you put your hope in things other than God. It was a little intense, but the verse from Psalms was refreshing and something to hope and strive for....I am encouraged by positive things. :)
After mass, we went with Cait's family to brunch where we met up with some other friends and Keswick, the best companion dog in training ever. We ate at the Omni Hotel downtown. It was AMAZING and such good and refreshing company. I love meeting friends' families. I had a scrambled egg 2pts, some really thin sliced meat 1pt, 2 1/2 glasses orange juice 5pts, a small buscuit with gravy 5pts, some cottage cheese with a pineapple slice 2pts, and a small seasoned red potato 3pts.
After brunch, we came home, took a nap, and cleaned house for what felt like forever. More or less, I complained about cleaning while Matt cleaned up. He's really nice to me. I snacked on a granola bar for 2pts midday.
After a while, we decided to go out for V-day to sushi-love. It was awesome. Best sushi so far in c-ville. We had edamame for 1pt and we split 4 sushi rolls which had 8pcs each. I counted 4pts per non-specialty roll and 5pts per specialty roll (because 1 had cream cheese and the other had eel sauce). So 10pts total for food and I had 2 glasses of Yeungling for 6pts. So fun.
Unfortunately, when we came back to our car which was parallel parked on the corner, some one had sideswiped it and knocked the driver's side mirror off- hit and run. Perfect. How does this happen?! So we called the police and they came and took a report. I HATE SHITTY DRIVERS! This is the 3rd time we've been hit in two months and it wasn't our fault! UHG!
We salvaged the night by ignoring the damage and learning how to play cribbage that Matt got for Christmas. I was happy to spend some time with Matt.
